Chapter One: The Pillars of Pelagia

The Party was hired to locate a hedge mage named Arcadianus by the man's friend (and creditor), an alchemist named Lazlo. Arcadianus himself was typically reclusive, preferring the company of his diminutive draconic familiar Myricia and the comforts of his seaside tower. However, after Arcadianus remained unseen and unheard from for several months and with an order of potion ingredients paid for but undelivered, Lazlo decided to hire help.

After defeating the anti-social mage's riddle/perfume/harpy based security system, the Party searched Arcadianus's tower top to bottom. Instead of the wizard, they instead confronted a giant animated stone crab and its brood, a ecological sliding tile puzzle, and ultimately a rather unfriendly aquatic necromancer and her minions. The Party defeated zombies, sharks, crossbow wielding warriors, and finally the boss herself, rescuing Myricia the familiar in the process.

Myricia telepathically confirmed the both Lazlo and the Party's fears: Arcadianus was dead. The boss the party faced had sought a treasure which Arcadianus had recently recovered amidst the aquatic ruins he had so loved to explore. Detailed in the mage's journal, which the Party and Myricia recovered from the ransacked tower, is the powerful artifact which caused all this grief. It's called The Shadowstone, and with the incantations Arcadianus discovered, it has the power to blot out the sun itself.
